DIANA GONZALEZ, Esq.

PARTNER

Ms. Diana Gonzalez was born and raised in Orange County.  She graduated from Saddleback High School in Santa Ana, California and continued to UCLA where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Psychology in 2007.

 

Ms. Gonzalez then received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Southwestern Law School in December of 2011 and was admitted to the California Bar in June of 2012. During law school, Ms. Gonzalez clerked for the Honorable Amy Pellman at the Edmund D. Edelman Children’s Court in Los Angeles, California. She also gained valuable experience while clerking for the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Immigration Project.

After law school, Ms. Gonzalez worked at Fontes|Figueroa Law Group, APC, as an Associate for six years gaining experience in the areas of Immigration Law and Workers Compensation. Through her years at Fontes|Figueroa Law Group, Ms. Gonzalez was able to represent individuals in detention and removal defense, Consular Processing and a large array of visa petitions. 

 

Ms. Gonzalez was also a proud Board Member of the Orange County Hispanic Bar Association from 2013 to 2019. Through her position Ms. Gonzalez was able to work towards providing deserving students with scholarships for higher education. 

In January of 2019, Ms. Gonzalez established her own office in Santa Ana, California. Her goal is to provide the community with honest and affordable legal services.

SUREN WEERASURIYA, Esq.

PARTNER

Mr. Suren N. Weerasuriya was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka and raised in Orange County. He graduated from University High School in Irvine, CA and attended Virginia Tech where he was on the Dean's List several semesters and graduated with his B.A. in 2007.

Mr. Weerasuriya received his Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern Law school in May of 2011, earning the CALI Excellence for Future Award in Employment Law.

After law school Mr. Weerasuriya worked at a Consumer Rights firm in Los Angeles where he represented employees and consumers in hundreds of individual and class action cases in state and federal court. At that firm, Mr. Weerasuriya successfully tried and arbitrated consumer rights cases and settled hundreds of individual and class action claims involving employment discrimination, wage and hour violations, and consumer fraud. He represented consumers who have been victims of debt collection harassment, inaccurate credit reporting identity theft, illegal call records, false advertising, and invasive telemarketing practices.  

From there, Mr. Weerasuriya rounded out his experience by representing business entities in employment, commercial real property, contracts, and trade secret disputes at multiple business law firms.

In December of 2020, Mr. Weerasuriya joined Ms. Gonzalez at D. Gonzalez Law, APC, as a partner. Mr. Weerasuriya now heads the Department of Employment Law, focusing on Wage and Hour Violations.

Mr. Weerasuriya brings an aggressive but practical approach to litigation focused on protecting clients while always pushing for the end goal. Mr. Weerasuriya prides himself on strong written and oral advocacy, and on ensuring his clients' voices are heard.
